Tony Pizzuti grew up in Providence, RI in the heyday of the America’s Cup in Newport. Although the seed was planted in the 50’s and 60’s, it bore no fruit until nearly 40 years later when his future wife, Lori, introduced him to catamaran sailing on a lake in Pinedale, WY.
In 1996 they moved to the Clear Lake area and purchased a 23 ft Columbia and, as they say, the rest is history.
Tony began teaching in 2007 and is ASA Certified to teach Basic Keelboat, Basic Coastal Cruising, Bareboat Charter, Coastal Navigation and Advanced Coastal Cruising. Tony was selected as an ASA Outstanding Instructor for 2010. In addition, he holds a USCG 50 Ton Masters License.
For the past 8 years, Tony and Lori have been sailing their Pearson 385 in Galveston Bay and the Gulf of Mexico.
