The American Sailing Association (ASA) is the official United States organization which monitors international standards of sail training taught and accepted in schools and charter companies around the world. The American Sailing Association is dedicated to promoting safe recreational sailing in the United States by administering an internationally recognized education system. The American Sailing Association is an association of, professional sailing instructors, sailing schools and charter companies. The American Sailing Association's education system consists of Certification Standards for students and instructors. These standards are minimum requirements of knowledge and ability in safety and seamanship. The American Sailing Association Certification provides documentation of an individual's achievement and is recognized by national authorities, charter and insurance companies, throughout the United States and around the world. In addition, Bay Area Sailing School has earned the prestigious ASA School of the Year award for the central region of the United States for the last two years. The credit for this outstanding achievement goes to our team of certified ASA instructors, who believe in offering the new sailor, not only the best training available, but also making this a very enjoyable experience. All of our instructors have attended and successfully completed the ASA’s rigorous and demanding Instructor Certification Program. At Bay Area Sailing School, you will receive the finest
